How to Install lilypond software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

lilypond software package provides program for typesetting sheet music, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install lilypond

lilypond is installed in your system.

Make ensure the lilypond package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lilypond *

You will get with lilypond package name, version, architecture and description in a table
